Kodiac Oil and Gas Corp. (KOG) recently released an update on their Bakken shale activity located in Dunn County, ND:
Kodiak will be mobilizing its third drilling rig in the Williston Basin within 30 days. Kodiak is also participating in one non-operated drilling rig with its joint venture partner in the Dunn County area of mutual interest. The joint venture partner recently reached total depth on its first two long-lateral middle Bakken wells and they are awaiting completion. Kodiak owns a 50% WI and 41% NRI in both wells and retains a comparable interest in all of the AMI lands. The Company has recently been notified that its joint venture partner intends to mobilize a second rig to the AMI in mid-year 2011.

Voyager currently controls approximately 24,000 net acres in the Williston Basin, primarily in Williams, McKenzie and Mountrail Counties, North Dakota and Richland and Roosevelt Counties, Montana. Voyager has spud twelve gross Bakken wells, of which three are producing, four are drilling and five are completing. By the end of 2010, Voyager expects to spud 15 gross Bakken wells. In 2011, Voyager expects to spud approximately 35 gross and 5 net Bakken wells based on recent permitting activity on Voyager's leasehold interests. J.R. Reger, Voyager's CEO, commented, "The accelerated production and positive results across our Bakken/Three Forks position continue to remain within our original expectations. We believe that our 24,000 core acres are being developed by some of the best operators in the play and we are excited to be participating in this premier oil resource play. We continue to focus most of our efforts on leasing and acquisitions in the Bakken and Three Forks play. We are excited to be moving into the production ramp-up stage across our Bakken position. Northerin Oil and Gas, Inc. - Bakken Shale Update

Northern Oil and Gas, Inc. (NOG) recently announced increased 2010 drilling guidance and provided an operations update related to drilling and completion activity in the Williston Basin Bakken and Three Forks play.
2010 DRILLING ACTIVITY
Since January 1, 2010, Northern Oil has spud 21.5 net wells. Northern Oil is currently participating in the drilling or completion of 90 gross Bakken or Three Forks wells, for an aggregate of 10.4 net wells currently drilling, awaiting completion or completing. Of those wells, 5.0 net wells are currently drilling but have not reached total depth, an additional 4.6 net wells have been drilled to total depth and are awaiting completion and the remaining 0.8 net wells are currently undergoing fracture stimulation to commence production.
Northern Oil now expects to spud approximately 24 net wells by the end of 2010, increased from previous guidance of 18 net wells. We believe the increase in expected wells is based upon the increasing rig count, which was at an all-time high of 155 drillings rigs in the North Dakota Bakken play as of October 11, 2010. Northern Oil’s Chief Executive Officer, Michael Reger, commented "We continue to experience an increased pace of drilling in the Bakken and Three Forks plays. In addition to allowing Northern Oil to consistently increase its production, increasing drilling activities have also allowed us to observe the impactful delineation of the Three Forks play in key counties of the Williston Basin."
2010 ACREAGE ACQUISITIONS
Northern Oil has acquired a total of 38,864 net acres year-to-date in the core of the Williston Basin Bakken and Three Forks play at a total cost of approximately $42.2 million. This represents an average cost of $1,086 per acre.

Brigham Exploration Company: Bakken Shale Update

Brigham Exploration Company (BEXP)recently released an operational update announcing the completion of new wells in the Bakken Shale in Williams County, North Dakota and in Mountrail County, North Dakota:
Brigham Exploration Company (BEXP) announced the completion of the State 36-1 #2H Rough Rider Three Forks well, its first Three Forks well west of the Nesson Anticline, at an early 24-hour peak flow back rate of approximately 2,356 barrels of oil equivalent. Brigham also announced three Bakken completions, including the Domaskin 30-31 #1H Ross project area well at an early 24-hour peak flow back rate of approximately 4,675 barrels of oil equivalent. As a result, Brigham has now completed 36 consecutive high frac stage long lateral Bakken and Three Forks wells in North Dakota with an average early 24-hour peak flow back rate of approximately 2,684 barrels of oil equivalent. In addition, Brigham announced the acquisition of additional leasehold covering approximately 10,200 net acres in the Williston Basin, approximately 7,600 of which is located in its core Rough Rider project area. Finally, Brigham provided an update on its drilling and completion activities in its core 205,600 net acres in the Williston Basin.
Bud Brigham, the Chairman, President and CEO, commented, "We're extremely excited by the results from our State 36-1 #2H Rough Rider Three Forks well. This well has generated an apparent record early 24-hour production rate for a Three Forks well west of the Nesson Anticline, and begins to potentially de-risk as many as 362 net Rough Rider Three Forks drilling locations. Combining our 571 drilling locations that are already significantly de-risked with as many as 362 net Rough Rider Three Forks drilling locations could result in our de-risked drilling inventory growing to up to 933 potential net locations. We believe success in the Three Forks in our Rough Rider project area represents a significant net asset valuation accretion event for our stockholders and other stakeholders."
Bud Brigham continued, "Our staff continues to manufacture oil wells on our current core acreage and deliver exceptional results. We've now completed 36 consecutive high frac stage long lateral Bakken and Three Forks wells in North Dakota with an average early 24-hour peak production rate of approximately 2,684 barrels of oil equivalent. Furthermore, with our Domaskin completion, we now have three of the four highest initial production rate Bakken wells in the Williston Basin."
Bud Brigham continued, "The results from our four recently completed wells should have a significant positive effect on our fourth quarter 2010 production volumes and our year-end proved reserves. In addition, our production volumes and proved reserves should be further enhanced by our two additional wells that are currently fracing, one of which is located in our Ross project area proximate to our record Bakken wells."

Bakken Shale Oil Update 10/27/08 - Sanish Three Forks
Newfield Exploration ( NFX ) has come out with an update on their Bakken Shale formation. They also give some insight on the Sanish/ Three Forks area as well where they are drilling for Oil.
October Update - Bakken Formation
Our current net production from the area is approximately 2,500 BOEPD, and our activity level in the greater Williston Basin is expected to increase in 2009. We plan to operate three rigs throughout 2009. Plans include continued development and expansion along the Nesson Anticline and our exploration areas west of the Nesson and in Montana. We have 473,000 gross acres (160,000 net) in the Williston Basin. Our acreage position has prospective targets that include the Bakken Shale, as well as the Madison, Red River and Three Forks/Sanish. The Jorgenson 1-15H, our first Sanish/Three Forks horizontal well, is an apparent success and the well awaits completion at this time. Flow rates are expected in early November. We expect to drill four additional operated wells near this well in 2008
